"A Journey
Behind the Camera."

Empowering young Tibetan and Himalayan creatives — igniting their passion for storytelling through film.

A hands-on film production workshop that has taken root in Ladakh and continues to grow across Himalayan regions and Tibetan settlements. What began in 2024 as a one-month program for school students has evolved — and we are committed to bringing it wherever stories are waiting to be told.

The workshop covers every stage of filmmaking — from scriptwriting and cinematography to sound, editing, and final screening. Participants don't just learn filmmaking. They make films.

Past Editions
2024
TCV School, Ladakh
A one-month hands-on filmmaking workshop for students of classes 8–10 at TCV School in Ladakh. 15–16 students — divided into two teams — moved through pre-production, production, and post-production to create their own short films. The first edition of its kind in the region.
2025
Open Edition, Ladakh
Expanded for aspiring filmmakers of any age — graduates, mass communication students, and independent creatives. A deeper, more intensive edition designed for those serious about building a future in film. Open to the broader Himalayan creative community.
The Three Phases
01
Initiation
An intensive introduction to the world of filmmaking. Participants are divided into teams and begin their journey into cinema — understanding storytelling, scriptwriting, and visual language.
02
Role Empowerment
Participants choose their own roles — Director, Producer, Scriptwriter, Cinematographer, Sound Recorder, or Editor — taking ownership of their creative contribution within the team.
03
Short Film Creation
Each team produces a complete short film — screened at student film festivals and online platforms. A real film, made by real filmmakers.
"
A truly beautiful experience. Over one month, this workshop was both eye-opening and deeply hands-on. From visual storytelling to working closely with the camera — the learning was practical, inspiring, and unlike anything available in Ladakh. Getting the opportunity to work as a Director of Photography on a short film made it even more meaningful. I hope workshops like this become a must for young people here, where such opportunities are rare but deeply needed.
